{"id":6968,"date":"2018-02-07T14:29:19","date_gmt":"2018-02-07T14:29:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/?p=6968"},"modified":"2018-02-07T14:29:19","modified_gmt":"2018-02-07T14:29:19","slug":"warwickshire-county-champs-week-1-27-28-jan-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/warwickshire-county-champs-week-1-27-28-jan-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Warwickshire County Champs Week 1 27\/28 Jan 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was an amazing weekend for the Perry Beeches sss swimmers who took part in the first weekend at the Warwickshire County Championships at Coventry\u2019s 50m pool.<\/p>\n<p>First with success was Carys Higgins, who came second in the 11\/unders 200 Breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>Then, the boys medley and freestyle relay teams of Joel Harris, Callum Gibbons, Vashon St Rose, Harry McGovern, Billy Martin, Mason Carless, Jacob Dunn, Daniel Johnson and Metin Ulukus \u2013 many of whom came to swim and support the team, whilst gaining useful 50m swimming experience.<\/p>\n<p>Carys then went on to reach the finals of the 50 Backstroke, coming 8<sup>th<\/sup> in the final.<\/p>\n<p>Catrise Hart and Becky Gulliver also made the final for their age group of the 50 Backstroke \u2013 Catrise coming 3<sup>rd<\/sup> and Becky 4<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey Higgins won the 50 Butterfly for the 13\/unders.<\/p>\n<p>Then onto the 100 Back for Boys \u2013 Lewis made the final and came 6<sup>th<\/sup>, and Jamie Keyte came 7<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6969 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-192x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"192\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-192x300.jpeg 192w, http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-768x1201.jpeg 768w, http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-327x512.jpeg 327w, http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-82x128.jpeg 82w, http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-20x32.jpeg 20w, http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins-384x600.jpeg 384w, http:\/\/perrybeechesswimming.co.uk\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Harvey-Higgins.jpeg 1745w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 192px) 100vw, 192px\" \/><\/a>Harvey also made the final of the 200 IM \u2013 and won this too for the 13\/under category.<\/p>\n<p>Onto Sunday\u2019s races and the girls 100 freestyle, Carys and Becky both reached the finals in their age groups, and both came 6<sup>th<\/sup> in their respective finals.<\/p>\n<p>Then onto the girl\u2019s 50 freestyle. Again Carys and Becky made the finals in their age groups, this time Carys came 6<sup>th<\/sup> and Becky came 5<sup>th<\/sup> in their age groups.<\/p>\n<p>Becky then went onto swim in the girls 400 freestyle, coming 3<sup>rd<\/sup> in the 13\/under category.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey then swam the 50 and 100 Breaststroke making the finals for both events. Harvey came 3<sup>rd<\/sup> in the 50 Breast and 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in the 100 Breast.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Harvey was saving himself for the 200 Freestyle, where he cruised home to an easy win! Jamie also made the final coming an admirable 4<sup>th<\/sup> place in his age group.<\/p>\n<p>Carys, not wanting to be outdone by Big Brother, went onto win the 11\/under girls 100 Butterfly in the final. Becky also made the 13\/under final, coming 7<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Catrise and Becky finished the day off in the 200 Backstroke final \u2013 Catrise coming 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and Becky 7<sup>th<\/sup> in the 13\/unders final.<\/p>\n<p>Well done to everyone who took part \u2013 all events have to be qualified for, meaning they have all worked really hard to get there in the first place.
