Oh what a night! Solihull Senior Trophy Gala 2016

A-MAZ-ING is the only way to describe the performances of the swimmers on Saturday night at the Solihull Senior Trophy Gala at Tudor Grange Baths.

Beeches finished second to Solihull A on the night. Points were Solihull A 256, Perry Beeches 214, Camp Hill  189, Fox Hollies 187 and Solihull B 91.

First places on the night went to the 11/under freestyle relay team (Ellison Hart, Lewis Carless, Harvey Higgins and Vinaye Gaddu); Girls Open Medley Relay Team (Danya Gaddu, Sareena Gaddu, Katie Gulliver, Sophia Deans); Boys Open Medley Relay Team (Jamie Keyte, Cameron Rimmer, Drew Rimmer, Daniel Cox); Katie Gulliver (Girls Open 100m Butterfly and Girls Open 100m Freestyle); Jamie Keyte (Open 100m Backstroke); Becky Gulliver (Girls 11/under 50m Freestyle); and the Boys Open 6 * 1 freestyle relay (Cameron Rimmer, Drew Rimmer, Stuart Fuller, Daniel Cox, Jack Byrne and Jamie Keyte).

Coach Helen Pordage is very happy with the result – this included 13 personal best times – and the team is now looking forwards to round one of the Arena League in 3 weeks time.

Young Officials Funding

Eddie Blight Trust Fund Funding of up to £100 is available through the Eddie Blight Trust Fund for young officials (16 – 25 years and in full time education) to assist with the initial outlay of official’s clothing, equipment and travel/accommodation at events. Click here for an application form

Whoop Whoop Junior Squad! Winners of Division 3 of the Junior League

Big well done to swimmers in Beeches Junior Squad who swam in the Division 3 final of the Nuneaton and District Junior swimming league on Saturday morning.

Coming a very close second on the day to Warley Wasps, Coach Helen Pordage’s Diddies had amassed enough points in the previous three rounds to win the division 3 title for 2016, and promotion to division 2.

Special mention must go to the 11/under girls relay team – Catrise Hart, Trearna Hart, Becky Gulliver and Sophia Deans – who swam ‘Record Breaking Times’ in BOTH of their relays – the previous Medley relay record time had stood since the year 2000!

The team also won the ‘Best dressed team’ trophy – bringing the trophy hall to four trophies on the day.

Train Together, Win Together, Have FUN Together‘ is the Beeches motto – these proved that this is definitely the case at the weekend!
