Perry Beeches Swimmer Paul Bates, last weekend joined 10,000 other Swimmers at the UKs and Europe biggest open water swimming event The Great North Swim.

The Great North Swim event runs over 3 days ( 13th to 15th June ) There are a few different event distances to choose from. The ½ mile and 1 mile events are the most popular ones ,then comes the 2 mile and 5k distances For the more adventurous .
Paul took part in the two mile distance race and produced a fabulous Swim of 44.35 for the 2 miles , which resulted in him claiming second place in 45-49 age group and 14th place overall out of 1400+ Swimmers who did the two mile distance event .
The Beeches Swimmer’s next open water race is the big Cotswold 4 mile Swim in two weeks time – good luck to Paul from everyone at Beeches for the next one!
