A big well done to all of the Beeches swimmers who made the journey up the Motorway on Saturday to take part in the annual Sheffield sprints.
First shout out to Jamie Keyte, who achieved his first Midland time in the 50 Freestyle, coming 3rd place overall in the event. Jamie also came 4th in the 100 Back, 3rd in the 100 Free, 1st in the 50 Butterfly.
Danya Gaddu, who only entered the 14 year age category a week earlier, won an impressive haul of medals. Danya came 1st in the 50 Free, 1st in the 50 Back, 3rd in the 100 Free, 2nd in the 50 Butterfly and 4th in the 100 Back. Go Danya!
Katie Gulliver obtained her Midland Time in the 50 Butterfly again, coming 3rd. Katie also came 4th in the 100 Butterfly, 5th in the 50 Free, 4th in the 50 Back and 5th in the 100 Free.
Jessica Jones also had a good day, getting personal best after personal best, and coming 2nd in the 50 Back.
Andrew Gulliver came 5th in both the 50 and 100 Butterfly swims.
Lewis Carless and Becky Gulliver were on their own personal mission, swimming in every event possible (all events, 50’s and 100’s). Lewis came 6th in the 100 Breast and 5th in the 100 Butterfly. Becky came 3rd in the 50 Free, 4th in the 50 Back, 3rd in the girls 100 Free and 6th in the 100 Back.
Ella Payne’s first trip to Sheffield resulted in 5th in the 100 Butterfly, 4th in the 50 Free (with a decent pb) and 4th in the 100 Free.
James Bodenham also made the trip to Sheffield, swimming in the Butterfly and Free races, gaining a pb in the 50 Free event.
Well done to all the swimmers on a very hot afternoon at Ponds Forge International Swimming Centre – a credit to the club. 19 personal best times were achieved on the day. Go Beeches Go!
