Well done to all the Beeches swimmers who swam in the first round of the Nuneaton and District Junior League (affectionately known as the ‘Diddy’ league). With 23 personal bests out of 32 individual races, it was a good nights work for the Beeches swimmers.
Special mentions go to Miya Walker, who stepped in to swim Umeeka Mann’s Back stroke when she slipped and hurt her shoulder. Also to Sophie Blackwell who took over Cody Robins Cannon & Breaststroke when she was sick. Both of these girls swimming personal bests in these individuals.
Another special mention goes to Jack Skett, who stood in at the last minutes on Saturday, and swam well.
A special mention to all the 9 year old swimmers, boys and girls, who were swimming their first main gala without a disqualification.
The first round of the Nuneaton and Junior District League at Wyndley on Saturday night ran very smoothly thanks to the many new Beeches volunteers. Jenny Powell and Alison Nankervis who made their debut as recorders, Vicky Massey, Tom Massey and Kal Gaddu manned the reception desk and refreshments, and Karen Westwood stepped in at the last minute to make her debut as the new Beeches announcer. A strong team of officials Abigail Duce, Joshrun Mann, Mark Blackwell, Elaine Gale, Keith Munday and Brian Shermer ensured the gala ran smoothly. A special thank you to Paul Shipway, and John King for helping out Beeches Officials. Chanel Kang and Sarena Gaddu who kept volunteers topped up with sweets throughout. Our Chaperones Jenny Langston and Paul Bates who supported Dave Marsh (Team Manager) and Gary Tonks (Junior Coach) in helping the children get to their events on time.
