The Perry Beeches SC Masters Team joined Swimmers from all around the UK who converged on Queen’s Street, Derby for a special Etwall Eagles 10th Anniversary Masters Meet.
The event is one the best attended Masters Swimming Meets in the UK, was full to capacity with 200 individuals representing 49 clubs , ensuring it would be a very competitive day .
The Beeches Team took 6 swimmers to Derby , Angelika McDonald, Steve Dunn, Ross Emery, Charlie Wheadon, Andrew Gulliver and Paul Bates.
Over the day the team competed in no less than 30 races , which resulted in a fantastic 4 gold, 9 silver , 4 bronze and 27 top 5 placing .
The Gold winners for the team were Andrew Gulliver in 100m freestyle and in both 25m backstroke and butterfly (18- 24 age group ) and Gold also went to Ross Emery in the25m freestyle (34-39 age group), with the help and support of on poolside coaches Mandy Blizard and Helen Pordage, the beeches 6 managed ( with only a small team ) to get placed 8th in the team event out of 49 teams..a superb all round team effort .
