Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Vernon Tonks memorial trophies for 2014. The points are accrued during the club’s Christmas gala – the ‘Diddy’ swimmer with the most points wins the trophy, one for boys and one for girls.

For the girls it was Ella Payne.

And for the boys it was Lewis Carless

Big congratulations go to both swimmers – they are a credit to the club.

The proposed Family Fun Day has been postponed, and will now take place after Christmas (date to be advised). Sunday 21/12 will now be the last available lessons for all groups. Seniors and Masters will have a combined session from 15:00 until 16:30. Brian’s last widths class of the day will start at 16:00 and finish at 16:30.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The Club’s annual Christmas Disco will be held on Sunday 21st December, at Hollyfields Social Club from 19:00. Tickets are on sale NOW!!!  Cost will be the same as last year – £3.50 a ticket, or £15 for a family ticket (5 people). There are a limited number of tickets available so get your orders in now!!! A big well done to all who took part in this year’s Christmas gala. There were bucket loads of personal best times, and some very good swims. The times can be seen in the Members section on the Christmas Galas page. Seventeen Meet Best Times were broken this year, including the 9 year old girls’ Butterfly – Becky Gulliver broke Caitlin Horsley’s record from 2004, and Harvey Higgins who broke Joe Plimmer’s 9 year old boys’ Butterfly record from 2001!
