Tonight Session Changes Monday 17/02

Handsworth baths have a temperature problem and have closed their pool.

We will therefore need to do the following:

Diddy Group session will be one hour for tonight – 19:00 – 20:00

Handsworth beginners lengths may swim at Beeches if they would like to – 18:00 – 19:00

Seniors and Masters can then train at Beeches from 20:00 – 21:30

Handsworth hope to be open as normal for our Thursday sessions.

New Chief Instructor at Beeches – Abigail Turner

Congratulations to Abigail Turner, who has been appointed as the new Chief Instructor at Perry Beeches SSS.

Abigail, who in her ‘normal life’ is a school teacher is an experienced swimming teacher, and will be a valuable asset to the club.

Abby will be assessing the Learn To Swim sessions, and ensuring that the National Plan for swimming is being followed throughout the club.

The future is bright – the future is Beeches!

Handsworth Baths shut today Thursday 13/02

Handsworth Baths have just contacted us to say that they have a problem with the lighting and have had to cancel tonight’s sessions.

Beeches baths have been very accomodating, and we have three lanes there tonight – session times same as normal Thursday night times. Many thanks to the staff at Beeches pool.

Beeches Masters sweep the board at the Staffs Masters

Beeches produce a swimming master class at Staffordshire counties. .!

THE Perry Beeches Masters’ Swimming Team produced a master class of swimming at last weekend’s ASA Staffordshire Masters County Championships.

A team of 13 swimmers from the club competed in the event which was staged at the Wolverhampton Central Baths.

Jennifer Powell, Ross Emery, Stuart Fuller, Claire Thorn, Tara Leigh Thornton,

Angelika McDonald, Steve Dunn, Becky Smith, Katie & Andrew Gulliver,Jessica Jones, Jamie Keyte and Paul Bates, plus coach Helen Pordage who kept them all in order!

The team won an incredible 37 county titles (including 4 Team gold) between them.

Total medal haul for the beeches team was………a massive 59!!!! 37 GOLD (including 4 Team gold)

19 SILVER and 7 BRONZE from 69 swims. A fantastic day’s work

It’s a great start for Beeches sc  New  Masters coach Thomas Reader , who in his 1st a few months in charge has made a big impact on  performance for the Masters’ Swimming Team,  Tom is confident  this  is just the beginning of great things for the Beeches team ..

Their next big competition is the ASA Midlands Senior Age Group Championships held in Leamington in March.

Beeches Masters aim to promote swimming and fitness among over-18s, regardless of ability.
