Leicester Penguins Open Meet 2016

jamiekeyteleics2016Winning ten medals across the two days, and getting a swimmer into both the male and female skins, the small band of Beeches swimmers who made the short journey along the motorway had a thoroughly good time at this weekend’s Leicester Penguins Open Meet.

Firstly Jamie Keyte, who despite being poorly for most of the previous week got Bronze medals in the 50 Breaststroke (PB), 50 Freestyle and the 100 I.M. Jamie also qualified for the Boys skins, and made it through every round to finish top and win the skins overall. Well done Jamie 🙂

katiebeckyleics2016Katie Gulliver, who unfortunately had managed to get poorly in time to swim at the weekend, still managed to attain Bronze in the 50 Butterfly and the 100 Butterfly and Silver in the 100 Freestyle. Katie also qualified for the skins, coming 4th overall – well done Katie – and hope you feel better soon 🙂

Becky Gulliver won Bronze in the 50 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle, and Silver in the 100 Butterfly in the 11/under category. Well done Becky 🙂

Drew Rimmer won silver in the 200 Butterfly in the 16 and over category, and also managed to PB in screenhunter_313-oct-03-14-10every race (8 events) over the weekend meet. Well done Drew 🙂

Ella Payne and Daniel Job were the other two Beeches swimmers on Saturday – all of whom got to meet Liam Tancock who was visiting the meet that day. A big Beeches well done to every single swimmer who took part and represented the club.
