Sunday Assessments at Beeches Time Change

Sunday Assessments at Beeches Pool are moving to a new time! Effective as of Sunday 13th March the new Assessment time will be 4.30pm at Beeches Pool. Warwicks Week 2 – Finalists and Medalists

Another fun filled Saturday was spent at the side of a rather warm Coventry pool, for week 2 of the Warwickshire County Championships.

Wk2warwicksWinner for Beeches on the day has to be Sophia Deans, who not only made the final of the girls 12’s 50m Freestyle, but achieved a two second PB, a Bronze medal, and a qualifying time for the Midlands! Well done Sophia.

Other finalists on the day were Becky Gulliver, in the 11’s 50m Freestyle (came 6th), and Lewis Carless, in the 11’s 50m Breaststroke (also came 6th).

Catrise Hart led the Beeches 11 year old girls in the 200m Backstroke, winning a silver medal on the day.

Another mention for the boys 10-12 this time Freestyle relay (Lewis Carless, Harvey Higgins, Ellison Hart and Daniel Job) who gained a place with a big PB in their event.

LewisWk2warwicksOther swimmers on the day were Katie Gulliver, Ella Payne, Shontrez Lecky, Trearna Hart and Cameron Rimmer. Well done to all of the swimmers whose behavious as always was excellent.

New Seniors and Masters Coach at Beeches

SeniorCoach2016Beeches are proud to announce the arrival of the new Seniors and Masters Coach! Simon Hughes, the nephew of the legendary Brian Shermer, has joined the Beeches family as the new Seniors and Masters Coach. Accompanied by Louis Oliver, they will take the Seniors and Masters sessions effective immediately.

Warwicks Week 1 – Finalists and Medals

A big well done to all the Beeches swimmers who took part in this weekend’s first day of the Warwickshire County Championships, held at Coventry’s 50m swimming pool. A good start to the champs, we had seven finalists and four medals on day one.

Warwicks Week 1 finalistsThe 10 year old girls started the day off with a bang, with Catrise Hart (silver medal), Becky Gulliver (bronze medal) and Trearna  Hart all making the final of the 50 Backstroke. Not to be outdone, Danya Gaddu also made the 50 Backstroke final in her own age group.

Followed by Jamie Keyte, who made the senior final of the 50 Butterfly.

Later in the day, Becky Gulliver made the final of the 100 Freestyle, and Ellison Hart rounded off the day with a bronze medal in the 100 Backstroke.

EllisonOther swimmers on the day were Cameron Rimmer, Drew Rimmer, Katie Gulliver, Ella Payne, Harvey Higgins, Lewis Carless and Vicky Cox. A mention must go to the boys 10-12 medley relay team (Ellison Hart, Daniel Job, Harvey Higgins, Lewis Carless), who came 6th overall with a big PB too.

Dave Marsh, Director of swimming at Beeches, is very proud of all the swimmers who took part this weekend.
