More records broken by Harvey and Carys Higgins!

Well done to both Harvey Higgins and his sister Carys, who between them have broken 10 club records in the last few months!

Harvey has taken (in the 14 year age group):

50 Free, 50 Breast, 100 Free, 200 Free, 200 Breast, 100 IM and the 400 Free

Carys has taken (in the 12 year age group):

100 IM, 400 IM and 200 Breast.

Congratulations Helga Edstrom OBE

A BIG Beeches well done goes to Helga Edstrom, one of our lovely ‘adult improvers’ from our Sunday sessions at Handsworth, who has today been named as a deserved recipient of an OBE in the New Year’s honours list.

Well done Helga from all at Perry Beeches swimming club 🙂

Dave Marsh named as Perry Beeches’ President

Dave Marsh was unveiled as the new Perry Beeches sss swimming club’s President at the Christmas Disco last Sunday.

Dave, who has been at the club for more years than he cares to remember (!) helps the club to run successfully in many different ways.

Winner of the Dave Marsh award for 2019 is….

The winner of the Dave Marsh award for 2019 is – Becky Gulliver.

Dave Marsh bought the trophy, and it is awarded to the swimmer who has achieved the most qualifiers at the Warwickshire County Champs, the most finals at the Warwicks, the most qualifiers at the Midlands, the most finals at the Midlands, and National qualifiers too.

Becky is the second winner of the Dave Marsh Swimmer of the Year Trophy – Harvey Higgins won the trophy for 2018.

No swimmer can win the trophy more than once.

Best Boy and Girl – The Vernon Tonks Trophies 2019

Congratulations go to Joel Harris and Rayen Guizani, who tied for the Boys Vernon Tonks Trophy, and to Molly Gibbons, who won the girls Vernon Tonks Trophy.

Vernon Tonks was a very successful junior coach, who had great success at Perry Beeches, who sadly passed away a few years ago. The trophies were bought by the club to remember Vernon, and are won by the races swum at the Christmas gala each year. They can only be won by Diddy age swimmers.

     

New Club Captains for 2020

Congratulations to Jake Dunn and Becky Gulliver, who were named as the Club Captains for 2020 at the Christmas Disco.

Voted for by Senior Swimmers (aged 12 and over), the club captains have the joy of going to the three rounds of the Junior League, to help Helen with the Diddies.
