Coming a very close second on the day to Warley Wasps, Coach Helen Pordage’s Diddies had amassed enough points in the previous three rounds to win the division 3 title for 2016, and promotion to division 2.
Special mention must go to the 11/under girls relay team – Catrise Hart, Trearna Hart, Becky Gulliver and Sophia Deans – who swam ‘Record Breaking Times’ in BOTH of their relays – the previous Medley relay record time had stood since the year 2000!

The team also won the ‘Best dressed team’ trophy – bringing the trophy hall to four trophies on the day.
Well done to all the swimmers who took part – you are all part of one big team.
‘Train Together, Win Together, Have FUN Together‘ is the Beeches motto – these proved that this is definitely the case at the weekend!
With 9 personal best times on the day too, Coach Helen Pordage is proud of every single swimmer who took part and represented the club. Other swimmers on the day were: David Coleman, Ethan Davidson, Jack Chang, Mikael Sarwar, and Metin Ulukus.
Big thanks also to Yvonne Rimmer, Kal Gaddu, Katie Gulliver, Sareena Gaddu and Danya Gaddu for their help on poolside on the day.
Good Luck Junior Squad!
Good luck to every single member of the Junior Squad – and to Coach Helen Pordage – taking part in tomorrow’s final of the Nuneaton Junior Swimming League, at Wolverhampton’s Central Baths. The swimmers have worked hard – lets hope they swim to their abilities tomorrow 🙂
PBSSS motto is ‘Train Together, Win Together, Have FUN Together’ – lets all follow those guidelines!
Please will all spectators wear Black and Red tomorrow where possible – and be as loud with your cheering and support as you can 🙂
Entries Open for the ASA National Masters Championships 2016
Draft Programme released for the ASA National Masters Championships 2016
The ASA National Masters Championships 2016 takes place at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre between the 28 – 30 October.
The championships are highly anticipated every year and one of the highlights of the Masters swimming calendar.
Individual entries are now open and will close on Friday 30 September at 12 noon. Once a session is full, entries for these events will close. Make sure you get your entries in soon so you don’t miss out on your place. This includes swimmers who are only entering relay events.
Relay entries will be open until Wednesday 5 October at 12 noon.
New format for ASA Masters Entries
As the event has got more popular, the Masters Working Group have decided to change the event format slightly to keep it manageable. From 2017 there will be qualifying times which swimmers must meet in order to compete.
Chair of the Masters Working Group, Verity Dobbie, said: “We listened to the ASA Masters members’ views and took on board suggestions. As a result, we realised this event is no longer a participation event. It is the pinnacle of the annual Masters calendar which many swimmers aspire to attend.
“We considered all of the options and concluded that swimmers can enter until the event is full in 2016. As of next year (2017), we will be introducing qualifying times for all events.
“This will mean swimmers need to have a time on British Rankings within two years of the closing date of the competition for 2017.” – Verity Dobbie
The ASA will release qualifying times soon. This will allow swimmers to judge how close they are to these times at the 2016 event. Swimmers should plan for achieving their qualifying times ahead of the ASA National Masters Championships 2017.
Reminder re changing rooms
We have been asked to remind parents that when using the changing rooms with your child of a different sex to yourself, the child should be no more than 8 years old. Older boys should ideally get changed in the men’s changing room, and older girls in the ladies changing room.
Many thanks for your help with this.
