Worcester Winter League Round 1 – “It’s longer than a 25m pool!”

It’s a big well done to the small band of swimmers who travelled the short journey to the 33.3m swimming pool at Halesowen. Coming third on the night, with only 5 swimmers in the 15 and over category, they should be proud of their achievement.

Winners on the night were as follows:

Joel Harris in the 11/under 1 length freestyle; the 11/under mixed medley relay team, made up of Lily Ravenhill, Metin Ulukus, Kianna Hughes, Harry McGovern, Aisha Guizani and Billy Martin; Becky Gulliver in the 13/under 100 Freestyle, 15/under 100 Freestyle and the 13/under 100 Butterfly; Katie Gulliver in the Open 100 Butterfly; Billy Martin in the 11/under 50 Backstroke; Harry McGovern in the 11/under 50 Butterfly; and the 11/under mixed Freestyle team, made up of Isla Lawson, Metin Ulukus, Aisha Guizani, Joel Harris, Kianna Hughes and Billy Martin.

Other top three finishers on the night were:

Jake Dunn (13/under 100 Back and 13/under 100 Free); Trearna Hart (both the 13/under and the 15/under 100 Breast); 13/under mixed Freestyle relay (made up of Becky Gulliver, Daniel Johnson, Trearna Hart, Jake Dunn, Catrise Hart and Lewis Carless); Catrise Hart (13/under and 15/under 100 Backstroke); Lewis Carless (13/under 100 Breaststroke and 13/under 100 Butterfly); Katie Gulliver (Open 100 Freestyle); and Isla Lawson 11/under 1 length Butterfly.

Big well done to all who swam on Saturday night – Head Coach Helen Pordage is proud of your swims, and also big thanks to Kal Gaddu (steward), and to Sarah and Warren Higgins(Timekeepers) for their help on poolside.
